AppIsland

Privacy policy

AppIsland is the service at appisland.app and the AppIsland mobile app, run by Binary SaaS LLC (“we”, “us”).AppIsland lets you describe a small app (“tool”), builds it with AI, and lets you share it with people you invite. This policy says what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address and, if you give one, your name and a profile photo. We use them to sign you in, to show your name and photo to people you share tools with, and to send you invites and account emails. You can change or remove your name and photo in Account at any time.
  • If you sign in with Google: Google shares your name, email address, whether the email is verified, and your profile picture address with us. We ask for nothing else (no Gmail, contacts, Drive or calendar). We use this only to create and sign in to your AppIsland account, and we join it to an existing account with the same email so you have one account.
  • Your tools: what you type when you ask for a tool, your answers to its questions, and the tool the AI builds.
  • How you use the AI: for each request, what it was for (building, changing, asking), which AI model answered, how much it processed and what it cost us. We use this to charge credits, run and improve AppIsland, and plan costs. If you delete your account, these records stay only in our totals, no longer linked to you.
  • What you save in tools: the entries you and the people you share a tool with add to it. People in a shared tool can see what is saved in its shared lists.
  • Photos and files you add: those you add to tools, send in chats or keep in My files, with their name and size. Before a photo is stored, we remove hidden details in it, such as where it was taken.
  • Chats: messages you send in tools’ chats and in personal and group chats.
  • People you invite: the email addresses you send invites to.
  • Reports: if you report a tool, a message, a photo or a file, the reason and anything you write.
  • Technical data: basic request logs (time, address, error details) to keep the service running and secure. We don’t use advertising trackers.
  • App usage statistics (mobile app): which screens are opened, app installs and sessions, and your device model, operating system, app version and approximate country. We use them to see how AppIsland is used and fix problems. They don’t include your name, email, tools, chats or files, and we don’t collect your device’s advertising identifier.

Your device’s camera, microphone, location, contacts and calendar

A tool can ask to use these only when you tap something in it. A tool someone else shared with you asks you first, for that tool alone, and your device asks for its own permission too. Photos and voice recordings you choose may be sent to our AI providers to answer the tool (for example, to estimate a meal’s calories or turn speech into text). A tool can also save a photo or file you choose, so the people in it can see it. Location, contacts and calendar stay on your device unless a tool saves something you chose into it, or looks up something for you with a public service listed below (for example, your location for a weather forecast).

Who processes your data

  • Amazon Web Services hosts our servers, database, sign-in, photos and files, and sends our emails (in the United States). Its image analysis (Amazon Rekognition) checks photos for sexual content and graphic violence before they’re shared.
  • Anthropic runs the AI that builds tools and answers questions inside tools. It receives your requests and, when a tool asks the AI, what the tool sends it.
  • Groq turns voice recordings into text, when you use the microphone in AppIsland or a tool. We don’t keep the recordings.
  • Google Analytics for Firebase receives the app usage statistics above from the mobile app, under Google’s privacy policy.
  • Public information services, when a tool shows live information: Open-Meteo, Frankfurter, CoinGecko, Nager.Date, Wikipedia, Open Library, TheMealDB, Open Trivia DB. Your device asks them directly, so they see its internet address and the question (for example, a city or location for a forecast, or a currency), under their own privacy policies. Tools can’t send anything to other websites.

We don’t sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising. We don’t use it to train AI models, and our AI providers process it to answer our requests under their API terms.

Information from Google

AppIsland’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google profile information is used only to sign you in and show your name to people you share tools with; it is not shared with anyone else, used for advertising, or read by people except when needed for security, to comply with the law, or at your request.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Only our servers can reach the database. Each tool runs in a sealed space that can only read and write that tool’s own data, and only for people the owner invited. Photos and files are never public: each person who may see one gets their own link that stops working within two hours, and we check again that they’re still allowed when it’s opened.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and tools until you delete them. Deleting a tool deletes everything saved in it, its photos and files too. Photos and files are kept until they’re deleted (see the terms for who can delete them); deleting one removes it from storage. Unfinished build results are kept for up to a week. Server logs are kept for 30 days. We may keep something longer when the law requires it, for example material reported to NCMEC.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Account and choose Delete account. This deletes your sign-in, your personal details, your tools and everything saved in them, and your My files. Entries, photos and files you added to tools and chats that other people own stay there, without your name; write to us if you want any of them removed. You can also email us to delete your account.

We keep one thing: a one-way fingerprint of your email address (a hash, from which the address can’t be read back), with a count of the free things it used (welcome credits, free AI and voice-to-text), so they aren’t given again to the same address by signing up again. It isn’t linked to your name, tools or anything else.

Children

AppIsland is not meant for children under 13: everyone confirms they’re 13 or older before starting, and we don’t knowingly collect children’s data.

Your rights and contact

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by writing to support@binarysaas.com. If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app for important changes.
